Sensual lingerie inspired gowns adorned with barely there, wispy lace set the scene at the Alberta Ferretti AW16/17 show in Milan. A fiery red proposing an inner temptress juxtaposes powder blues and oyster velour. Victoriana lace layered with lustrous chinchilla fur, affectionately placed as if by the hands of a lover to keep off the chill. Mannish tweedy overcoats flung effortlessly over overtly feminine pieces depict this old fashioned gentleman we all desire. Jacquard metallics and Middle Eastern influences reference fond memories of travel - this is a woman who wears her heart on her gown, not just her sleeve.
