Another exciting AW16 Event that I got to work at was the Very.co.uk V by Very Event at ONE Marylebone. It is the most beautiful venue and the collection is stunning so keep you're eyes peeled when this launches online later in the year!!   

Urban Retreat at Harrods Placement

So... this is something quite different for me as I have mainly done creative writing/report based posts on my blog. However, I am looking to take things in a different direction by making this a lot more life style based and showing you guys what I get up to and the things that I love. I thought this would be a great time to start this journey as I have been working in Fashion/Beauty PR over the summer and have some really beautiful and exciting things to share with you. I have just finished a month working within the marketing and PR office for Urban Retreat at Harrods. I was lucky enough to work alongside some amazing people as well as see first hand some beautiful products. I was even lucky enough to attend the Christmas 2016 press day which was such fun, meeting Andrew Barton, Urban Retreats head hair stylist as well as some of the amazing hair and beauty team. During my time I took lots of pictures of my experience, hope you enjoy looking through and let me know if you like this kind of post/ want any advice on how I got my placements! A Midsummer Nights Dream

Alberta Ferretti adoringly invites you to witness the ready-to-wear love story of AW16/17.

Transport yourself into the pages of a romance novel where each one delicately unfolds a crushed velvet, liquid silk, blossomingly floral love story. Sensual lingerie inspired gowns adorned with barely there, wispy lace set the scene at the Alberta Ferretti AW16/17 show in Milan. A fiery red proposing an inner temptress juxtaposes powder blues and oyster velour. Victoriana lace layered with lustrous chinchilla fur, affectionately placed as if by the hands of a lover to keep off the chill. Mannish tweedy overcoats flung effortlessly over overtly feminine pieces depict this old fashioned gentleman we all desire. Jacquard metallics and Middle Eastern influences reference fond memories of travel - this is a woman who wears her heart on her gown, not just her sleeve. As we approach the climax of the show there is no forestalling the bridal ivory fluidly skimming the silhouette. Trailing the catwalk as though her groom awaits. I for one hope they live happily ever after.

Tousled bed hair and last nights make up seem somewhat out of place as we are welcomed by prim heritage style at Unique. Jodhpur riding trousers, teamed with crisp white shirts and fur lined aviator jackets are a nod to the oh so British faithfulness we cherish at their shows. However, there seems to be an underlining mischief about this country bumpkin; flashes of hazy grunge contrast the elegance of refined country classics. Leopard print and leather cigarette pants propose a tamed wild side.

Sightings of oversized hounds tooth take a final salute as fuchsia pink lace reveals her racier intensions. This is the half of the wardrobe that her parents don’t see; lustrous sequins drip in elegance and a flash of velvet gives a dance-all-night vibe. So how do we spot her? This girl loves a power fuzz coat. The bigger the better, polar bear tones and huggable organic textures are thrown over leopard and lace; she defiantly has something to hide…
